I’m Kitty, I’m 11 and I was born missing my lower left arm.
Up until now, I’ve found a way to do most things with help from my family, friends and teachers. But as I move to high school, I need to be more independent and tackle activities I haven’t done before like design technology, different sports and carrying everything I need.
I’ve always been independent and determined, achieved things people never thought I could. From abseiling to archery, playing the piano to winning swimming races, I usually find my own way to do what I want to do. But sometimes living with one hand can be tiring and get in the way of some things I want to do, and that can be really frustrating.
A Hero PRO would help me with everyday tasks like helping around the house, opening doors while carrying things, lifting things without putting too much pressure on my body, and doing all the things I love without having to have lots of different prosthetics.
I’m lead singer in a band and one day I ’d love to be able to sing and play the guitar on stage like Taylor Swift.
I love dancing and I’m starting at a new contemporary dance school in September, where having a Hero Arm would really help me express myself.
I’ve recently got in to golf and having two hands instead of a fixed attachment would help me improve my technique much quicker.
I also love doing my hair and could do so many more advanced styles with two hands.
I’m proud of my little arm and don’t want to hide it – a Hero Arm would help me make limb differences more visible and be a role model for other kids like me.
Our family are doing everything we can to raise money to buy my Hero PRO, but we can’t do it on our own. Please help me raise the money I need to change my life.
I’m raising money through The Open Bionics Foundation, and any donation will help me get my Hero PRO. Thanks in advance for your contribution to my Hero PRO it means so much to me.
More information about The Open Bionics Foundation: The Open Bionics Foundation provides financial support to socioeconomically deprived people with limb differences who need multi-grip upper limb prosthetics.
