Kitty in the Box needs a new box!

Donation protected
Hi there! My name is Duston, my business journey began in 2015 after a series of unfortunate events led to being unemployed due to yet another company going bankrupt. My wife and I decided that we really needed to be more in charge of our own incomes and so we started Kitty in the Box as a way to flex the wonderful things that we loved about Asian Pop Culture. We imported a lot of Anime products and Asian pop culture products along with some really cool traditional Asian items like matsuri masks and glass windbells.

As a result, we have become a fixture in the anime and pop culture conventions across the Southeastern USA.

This has enabled us as a family to spend more time together and share more of my daughter's Asian heritage with her which has inspired her to grow in her own art.

Unfortunately, as with many sole proprietorships, we suffered serious financial set-backs due to Covid and the current economic recession.

In order to respond, we want to revamp our product mix with all-new and all-unique items. I have scouted manufacturers that are creating cool products that I have never seen anyone offer on the East Coast of the USA.

Additionally, we have jumped into the 3D printing pool and have been offering cute anime and funky animal themed items that are hand-painted and finished products. We have plenty of ideas for original 3D creations that we will need to hire 3D artists to create unique files that only we will be able to use.

The reason I am asking for 10,000 to realize these goals is for the following:

$3500 for the initial inventory of unique blind box items with lower price points to match what people are willing and able to spend in the current economy.

$2500 to hire a graphic designer to make our Filipino puns and quips into marketable artwork and then have them converted into stickers and buttons.

$3000 to hire 3D modelers to create original designs of kawaii animals, interpretations of vintage anime characters of the 80s and 90s that are currently impossible to get merchandise for, and other concepts that we are convinced will be amazing and affordable at retail prices.

$1000 for 3D printer upgrades and special effect filament.

Please help us to expand our business. We are a biracial family and while I am a native-born American, my wife is proud to be an immigrant who chose America as her home. Our daughter is the best of both of us and while she has her own artwork and creativity, we want to create a business that she can eventually inherit as her legacy.

We would love to repay your kindness by issuing a Gift Card for Kitty in the Box in the amount of your contribution to our GoFundMe. The GC would be issued to be valid starting January 1, 2024. This is to give us time to do all the amazing things that we plan to do.

You can also pre-order items on our website at www.kitty-box.com to help us that way.
