Building Hope: Kitties & Cream's New Cat Lounge

Kitties & Cream is more than just a cat lounge—it is a beacon of hope and a place of solace for rescue cats and cat lovers alike. In just two years, 446 kitties have found loving homes through Kitties & Cream. The success we have achieved in such a short amount of time has been nothing short of ameowzing, but it has also brought us to a pivotal moment in our journey.

Having outgrown our original location, we knew we had to find a bigger, better space to continue our mission of love and compassion. With the recent acquisition of this ideal space, our dream of building the purrfect cat lounge is within reach, but we can’t achieve this alone—we need your support, passion, and generosity to make it a reality.

Starting this venture was a leap of faith, and growing it has been a labour of love. Through the tears, doubt, and exhaustion, we have persevered, fueled by the joy of seeing cats find their furever homes and witnessing the transformative power of cat therapy.

Since opening during the peak of the pandemic, we have faced unimaginable hurdles, including the loss of all our funding. Like many other small businesses, costs have continuously risen while profit margins shrink as we attempt to compete with bigger companies. And now, as we navigate the transition to our new location, we are confronted with many obstacles, setbacks, unexpected expenses, and a sense of uncertainty. We have been closed for over two months now with very little revenue and what feels like very little progress. I have poured my all into Kitties & Cream—at the expense of my own physical, mental, and financial health as a young and disadvantaged entrepreneur. This is my passion, my purpose, my everything. I’m not ready to give up on this dream. But without this funding I may have no choice.
