Kitten Scorpion Needs Emergency Medical Care

Scorpion and his Mama kitty and siblings were rescued from the streets. They have blossomed in foster care without any issues. Scorpion was about to get adopted this week but his foster parents realized something was terribly wrong. He had stopped eating and was so weak he couldn’t even stand up. This literally came on overnight. They rushed him to their vet.
Scorpion was diagnosed with Mycoplasma felis. It is a parasite transmitted by fleas and it destroys the host’s red blood cells. He needed a blood transfusion and hospitalization ASAP or he would die. He spent the night in the hospital and received his first blood transfusion. He has improved but has a long road of recovery ahead of him. It’s too soon to tell how many more blood transfusions he will need.
We are a small group of independent rescuers and every expense comes out of our own pockets. Anything you can donate will help greatly for us to save him.
