Maple's surgery
Donation protected
Hi everyone,
As some of you already know, Kyle and I took in a stray cat this past November right before a storm hit, and she ended up giving birth to 5 healthy kittens on 11/11/22. After much discussion, we decided to take on the responsibility of these 6 new cats in our home and provide for them. The past couple months have been an absolute whirlwind helping mama cat raise her babies, but it's been such a rewarding experience for both of us. So far, all kittens have been learning, growing, hitting major milestones, doing lots of socializing/bonding with each other and our 2 older cats, and are preparing for their forever homes. (and yes, mama cat has been spayed now!)
However, one of the kittens, Maple, has recently suffered an injury to her leg and was brought to the vet for x-rays. She has a fracture on her back leg, right at the hip. She will need to undergo a "femoral head ostectomy" where they will remove the head of the femur at the hip in order for her to heal and regain full mobility in that leg. This surgery will give her the best chance at full recovery with little to no complications in the future, if all goes well.
This emergency surgery has been estimated to cost us between $2000-$3000. It physically pains me to ask for help with this, but any amount donated is much appreciated and will go straight to Maple's vet bills and rehab. I am not looking for donations to cover the full amount, just enough to help chip away at the bill.
Thank you :)
