Kitten Beans’s life saving medical surgery

Donation protected

Hello. This is Beans, he is a kitten estimated to be around 11 months old who has had a pretty rough life already in his short time here.
I first saw Beans when he crossed the busy road in front of my house. He was a tiny black kitten, very friendly, showing that he has learned at a young age being friendly was key to his survival as a lone stray kitten.
We noticed his eyes his eyes were milky, we took him to the vet and and we were notified that he has a kitten onset cataracts, and is likely blind or has a very limited vision. He was also snorty, which the vet thought possibly he may have had a physical trauma that may have deviated his septum. With already 8 cats between the two of us, we initially tried looking him a new home. However with his vision impairment, no shelter or an individual wanted to take him, and putting him back out of the street was not an option with his condition, so Beans became our cat.
Despite his initial hardship in life, he was full of energy and zoomsies, and quickly became all of our cat’s best friend. Beans became a fully indoor cat, and he especially became inseparable with our ginger cat Hammy, who came from the Hounddogs pizzeria parking lot. Like Beans, all of our cats were originally strays that we took in throughout the years.
On Thursday February 29, 2024, Beans was visibly lethargic and kept vomiting. We rushed him to the veterinary emergency room, and x ray showed a blockage in his intestines, which called for emergency surgery. The complications came when they begin putting the scopes in him in preparation for surgery to remove the blockage, there was a polyp in his throat, and with the scope not getting in properly, he went into cardiac arrest. After CPR and several days in the ICU, he was finally stable enough for the surgery. Surgery itself was a success. The vets told us they speculated a growth in the intestines was likely caused by the airway obstruction/inflammation from the polyp in the throat, which also was the cause of the snorting, and it is common amongst short shouted dogs as a part of brachysephalic airway syndrome, but very rare for cats. We are asking for help to offset the cost of his intestinal surgery and polyp removal for Beans, who has had so much happen to him as a kitten. He is a fighter, and we would like to give him the best shot at life since he has clearly never given up despite all the obstacles.
The amount will offset the cost of the surgeries and the 4 day hospital stay and the medication, not including any aftercare or any other treatments aside from the one caused by the intestinal blockage.
No amount is too small, and we are just grateful you are even reading this. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
