Hello, my name is Akshaya Allenki, and I’m a proud Floridian, a lifelong Tampa resident, and a senior in the International Baccalaureate (IB) program. I’ve grown up with the comfort of family, stability, and opportunity — but every hurricane season and disaster reminds me that not all children have that same sense of safety.

During storms, I’ve witnessed how families — especially those with babies, young kids, and teens — struggle to find basic comfort while facing tremendous uncertainty. Many evacuate or take shelter with only a small bag of essentials, carrying deep stress, fear, and the unknown.

That’s why I created Kits of Hope — a student-led initiative to provide emergency care kits to children, teens, and toddler families who are often overlooked in traditional relief efforts. Each kit includes essential hygiene items, snacks, flashlights, comfort toys, child-safe thermometers, and other tools to bring dignity, warmth, and peace of mind when it's needed most.

I know I’m fortunate to have a stable home, a loving family, and a supportive community that encourages me to pursue my dream of becoming a physician. I believe that kind of privilege comes with responsibility — to serve others who may not have the same support.

With your help, I’m hoping to raise $5,000 to assemble and distribute 100+ kits across Tampa Bay and nearby communities — especially in shelters, low-income schools, and areas most impacted by storms.

Each $25–$30 donation funds one complete kit — a small contribution that makes a very real difference.

This project is especially close to my heart , I’m asking for your support in bringing comfort to children and families during their most vulnerable moments.
