Kitchen Fire takes the May's home in a huge loss!
Donation protected
The May family suffered a major loss of their home on Monday, March 11th. Charlotte was working in her she-shed nearby the home. Graci came home to meet her mom outside when they noticed their manufacture home was on fire. The home was quickly engulfed in so much smoke. Steven was at a neighbor's home nearby, they were able to rescue their pets. Graci's cat suffered injuries, inhaling so much smoke, but is slowly recovering. Thankfully, no one was inside when the fire started. Charlotte had to go to the ER, Monday night, due to inhaling too much smoke in trying to recover their pets and other things. She is doing fine and recovering as good as to be expected with meds. The entire family is now staying with Charlotte's parents, they have been meeting with the fire marshall and insurance companies to determine the loss. The May family are getting by with very little right now, they only have very few clothes that they have been washing over and over this week. They have been good with some food as they had food storage in other buildings located on the property as well as receiving help from close family nearby.
The May family will have a long road to recover from this. At this time we are in the investigation process. The process is leaning towards fixing the damage, the home is a 1989 manufacture home, insurance company wants to take it down to the studs to fix the entire home. How that looks to the May's living situation is beyond imaginable for them. Charlotte cannot live in the home with the amount of smoke damage, she cannot even help the family clean up the mess without having breathing attacks. We are simply asking for the ongoing living costs for them as they go through the insurance process, replacing or fixing their home, and all the clean-up that goes with it. Colton, their oldest is about to graduate in June and is now left helping their family in finding a normal way of life for the time being. Charlotte and Steven have always been a huge help to the community as well as their kids' school programs and extra-curricular activities. They are always the first to give their shirt off their back when help is needed. Their income is very limited as Steven is on disability, any help is very much appreciated. We are simply asking for the funds to go to clothing, bills that don't stop coming in when your home is destroyed, food, and anything needed to help the insurance deductibles and cleanups as we don't know how much money they will be facing in fixing or replacing it entirely.
There is an account set up for the May family at the U.S. Bank under Linda Litster's name, as she is the administrator in helping in assisting the funds to go to the May's needs.
