Hi my name is April and I’m raising money for my horse Louie!

Louie is 4 and finished racing last August! He came to me in September last year and the signs have only become apparent a few months ago after ridden work begun

louie is the loveliest person inside and out and today we had a diagnosis for kissing spine, through it all Louie has been the kindest soul despite being in pain! He has tried so hard to work through it which he has done without causing Injury to my self but I saw the signs and I listened to what he needed. I wish I saw it sooner but all I can do now is what is best for him.

It did come as a surprise, after ulcers were ruled out and having so much advice from

different professionals and friends. Because of his sweet nature what he was displaying when ridden was just so out of character, I knew there had to be something deeper.

louie isn’t just the luckiest boy in the world to have me but I feel I’m also the luckiest person to have him! He has helped me so much over this last year in ways that only I would probably understand! My daughter is obsessed with louie so she too has had so much joy out of him.

Kissing Spine is the equivalent of slipped disks or worse. It’s bone-on-bone. It causes constant pain and it will increase over time. Unfortunately, his affected area is directly where the saddle is placed, so I can no longer ride him.

There is a solution. It’s a specific surgery that cuts the ligaments at those vertebrae, creating space so the bones don’t touch he will also have parts of the bones shaved.

after looking at options due to how bad the kissing spine is surgery is the best option for Louie.

today I am asking for any help towards the cost of surgery, rehab and getting my boy on the mend.

Louie is insured but there is also so much more to pay out such as excess, travel as I have no transportation and expenses that aren’t covered through insurance and the 25% of the bill that I need to pay.
