Last November 2017 my sister was having sever stomach pain and bloating of her stomach. She immediately went undergo surgery which was life and death at that moment, surgery went well however little did we know she would be diagnosed with stage 4 stomach cancer. She fought everyday for her and her 3 kids.
She immediately went under intensive chemotherapy and it worked but only until her body had enough. Once they that treatment stoped working they switch to a different chemo. With the new treatment, She had more side effects. It almost was like it was worse. She lost her hair, would lose feeing in her hands and arms, loss of energy, severe headaches, and would vomit everything she ate. The vomiting and headaches only got worse, we've spent many nights in the hospital and this last visit we (her family) fought and her doctor fought to keep her there until we figured out what was happening as her symptoms were getting worse.
The docors ran 6 days of testing. They thought it was inflammation in her spinal fluid and that's what's why she was having severe headaches, they thought it was bacterial infection. More testing they start to eliminate whe what if's. The doctors schedule a meeting with all the family on October 10th 2018, its the cancer. Cancer has spread through to her spinal fluid and to her brain.
This was not the results that we were expecting. They told us that there is no treatment at this point and cannot give her any preventive medicine but pain medicine. They said she should enjoy her last moments as she chooses to and released her from the hospital as soon as they could.
What do you do knowing your body's failing and you have 3 babies (Daughter 17, Son 11, Son 4) to love and care for? The doctors gave her a month time frame. This went from fighting cancer to fighting her pain to live her final days in comfort. To helping her fulfill her last wishes of "taking care and to loving her kids and to being barried in Mexico next to her father". To protecting her kids and letting them know unconditional love for every last moment. Doctors today say she has 24 hours. Her body has faught hard enough and she is ready to rest.
We cant do this without asking your help, not only for money but for a prayer.
Pray that she rest easy and that she goes in Peace. Pray for her kids. Pray for the strength of her family. I know that she would ask, that we all show some act of kindness, even in the smallest simplest ways.
Thank you for hearing her story. Our story continues on honoring her wishes.
