Kischa and Jesus need help recovering

Donation protected
My friends Jesus and Kischa need some extra help. After avoiding it for a very long time (32 months!!), my friends Jesus and his immuno-compromised wife got CoVid this past Thanksgiving (she probably got it from one of the kids she nannies for). This is amazing because they both have pre-existing conditions.

Jesus recovered in about a month, though with his own complications.

Kischa, however never quite recovered. Started experiencing exhaustion like she never had before. Eventually too tired to do her job, they sadly had to let her go. She slept a lot and was constantly drained.

She went to the doctor in early January and among other things, checked her kidney function numbers. This was important because of her pre-existing diabetes. Her numbers were a little elevated but were trending down from the last time they checked. Her creatinine was 2.1, down from 2.8. Her A1c was 8.1, down from 9.1.

Things were trending down. But she was exhausted. Her doctor told her "These things will just take time. CoVid will just take time to get over."

But on Thursday, March 9, she went to the emergency room because the exhaustion and worsening edema in her lower legs were just too much. And that's when they discovered she was not only in renal failure, with a creatinine of 7.3, but also extremely low hemoglobin, as well as extremely low iron. So far she's had 2 blood transfusions for the low hemoglobin and 3 iron infusions for the low iron.

Things are still very much in flux with her. She's scheduled for a kidney biopsy to see truly what kind of shape her kidneys are in and to look for a more direct cause and effect. Depending on that answer, they may even have to begin dialysis.

Jesus slipped and fell and is currently recovering from 2 spinal compression fractures. It's difficult to even sit for too long, so he can't do some of the freelance projects he takes on to supplement his disability. (For those that don't know, he was born with Spina Bifida.) It'll take 8 weeks for his spine to heal, and he is supposed to wear a back brace until May.

Which all leads to Jesus and Kischa needing money. Neither has been able to bring in anything from jobs in a couple of months. He's currently not able to drive. And along with everything that is happening with Kischa, this is leaving them in danger of not making rent or the car payment. They had 2 vehicles but sold one when this all started months ago, shortly after she was let go.

Kischa and Jesus are truly two of the kindest people. Despite the situation they're in, they have both tried really hard to stay on top of things and do everything they could to keep it together until their respective health challenges knocked them down, and I know they would be forever grateful if you could help with any amount - big or small.

No one deserves to struggle because of a health crisis.
