Kirti Singh (56 years) a beloved husband, father and friend passed away on Thursday 21st March 2024 in Newcastle. His sad departure follows a recent return from India celebrating his son’s wedding, where his family reside.

Kirtiji worked at Dabbawal, a much-loved street food restaurant since 2013, playing a pivotal role in its growth. He was loved and respected by all members of the team, who remain in shock since his passing. Kirtiji dedicated the last 20 years of his life living in the UK to support his family in India. It is his family’s wishes to repatriate his remains back to Dehradun, North India.

We have launched this fund appeal to alleviate the financial burden upon Kirtiji’s heartbroken family to cover the costs of repatriation, and to raise a little extra to support the family. We are appealing to the generous communities of Newcastle and wider to come forward to help us return Kirtiji’s body back to India at the earliest occasion.

All proceeds will be handled by Yawan Giri, long-term colleague of Kirtiji.
