Urgent Appeal For Your Act Of Love – Help Luke stay at home to care for his family during Kirstie's last months with us.
Sadly this is a plea to raise money for Kirstie Swanborough to be with her family for the last months of her life: Husband Luke, daughters Neesha and Lysy.
The aim is to raise money to cover Luke's wages so that he can both create memories for them all and for Luke to become Kirstie's full time carer.
Kirstie has unfortunately run out of options for the treatment of the cancer which has failed to respond to the various treatments over the last 2 years. The doctors and consultants have advised them to make as many memories as they can over the coming weeks and months before she will require full-time care.
Added to the stress of the diagnosis, about 10 years ago Kirstie had an operation for cancer on her foot, as a consequence when they went on to buy their first home, she was denied life insurance. At the time this did not seem that important because she made what was then believed to be a full recovery.
Any of you that know Kirstie, will agree that she is the brightest shining star and the best version of a human being that there could ever be.
She has nursed and nurtured so many people, children and their families over her life, first within the NHS as a nurse for a number of years before retraining as a Kindergarten teacher after the birth of her first daughter Neesha. Kirstie worked tirelessly for over 15 years within the South Devon Steiner School community.
Kirstie had a difficult time as a child when she developed scoliosis and had to spend may months of her teenage years undergoing multiple operations to correct the curvature. It was during this time that she decided she wanted to train as a nurse in order to care for those people who find themselves in need of it and knowing how important that care is. This is typical of Kirstie, to take bad experiences and turn them around in order to help and support others in their times of need.
Not content to raise one child and be a teacher to hundreds more; Kirstie and Luke decided to adopt a young 3 year old girl, that was 5 years ago. Lysy is growing and developing into a wonderful child as expected and it is hoped that the money raised will enable Luke to take the time off from work to care and provide for their family over the coming months without fear of financial difficulties and worries.
Now it’s our turn, while we still can, to return that love and affection back to Kirstie and her family. The money raised will enable the family to be together, held in love rather than fear of financial insecurity, as they support one another through such a painful, cruel and challenging time.
Please give what you can however small a donation, together we can do this!
I thank you from the bottom of my heart.
