Kirsten's Legacy

It is with deep sadness and love that we share the passing of our beloved Kirsten, wife of Shane and loving mum of Jared, Riley, Toby and Tessa.

Kirsten stared breast cancer down with fierce strength, courage, and unwavering focus of ensuring her disease was not a burden on her love for family, friends and community.

Kirsten was relentless in her research, always seeking to equip herself with knowledge of her disease, the best treatment options available, the progress of integrative oncology to support her body and mind from the relentless toll the many lines of treatment would take. She believed this education would empower her to advocate for herself in treatment decisions, learn from developing areas in research in the use of complimentary medicines and supplements to best support traditional breast cancer treatment options.

Kirsten wanted to write a book about her journey, specifically the process she went through to discover, analyse and act on information she gathered, so that future women suffering from breast cancer could easily locate this information and hopefully find the strength from it that she did to fight this disease. By paying it forward Kirsten believed, she may have lost her battle, but the war against breast cancer could be won by improving the empowerment of other sufferers through information.

Kirsten’s Mission

To honour Kirsten’s legacy, her family are working to create a foundation with lasting impact by:

· Helping support the “out of pocket” testing for patients to make more informed decisions around target treatments.

· Connecting patients with cutting-edge research and clinical trials.

· Providing education and advocacy resources to empower individuals throughout their treatment journey.

In lieu of flowers, the Myers family kindly asks you to consider making a donation—no matter how small. Your contribution will directly support breast cancer patients in accessing research and information that can empower journey.

Your support will help launch this foundation and begin turning this into a reality. If we encounter barriers that prevent us from formally establishing the charity, all funds will be donated to a Breast Cancer charity.

Kirsten believed in the power of knowledge - whether it was standard of care or complementary. She gave everything she had in her fight. She also believed deeply in compassion, inclusion, and the strength of community. With your help, we can continue her mission and make a meaningful difference in the lives of others.
