Hey there- here’s the story right from Matt’s Facebook post:

It is with a mixture of fear and hope that Kirsten and I are sharing the following news. We think it is easier to post it once rather than having to explain over and over.

Kirsten has been diagnosed with Stage III breast cancer. She will be having surgery in the next few days. After that, she will undergo Chemo and radiation therapy for about 8 months. Her surgeon painted a very positive picture for us, but the road to get there is going to be pretty shitty.

This has been a whirlwind of a few weeks, mainly caught in disbelief. Now that we have definitive answers and a plan, we are spending the next few days together.

Kirsten is the strongest person I've ever met. She is a warrior. She is my best friend. We know that there is hope, and we are full of it, but we are also scared.

In the coming weeks and months, Kirsten will need your support in whatever way you can provide it. Good vibes, intentional thoughts, and prayers are all appreciated. We have an amazing family and support network. We are blessed to have all of you. We love you all so much.
