Hi, my cousin is a local small-business owners, and the brains and passion behind Kirra Cold Brew. This morning they had their world shattered after their beloved cold brew Kombie van suddenly burst into flames while setting up at the Burleigh Markets. This little van wasn’t just their only way of selling Cold Brew face to face – it was the heart of a dream they have worked so hard to build from the ground up.
In just a few terrifying minutes, they watched their mobile café, equipment, stock, and setup disappear. Everything they rely on to work, pay their bills, and show up for their community is now gone. While we are incredibly grateful that no one was physically hurt, the emotional and financial toll is overwhelming, and what little insurance they have will not come close to covering what’s needed to start again.
If you’ve ever grabbed a cold brew from a local van, you know it’s about so much more than caffeine. It’s the warm hello on a sleepy morning, the familiar face that remembers your order, the little moment of connection that makes your day feel lighter. Kirra Cold Brew has been that for so many people on the Gold Coast, always giving their best with a smile, even on the toughest days.
Now they need us. We’re asking for your help to rebuild their dream and give them hope when it feels like everything has been taken away:
- To rebuild and refit the Kirra Cold Brew Kombie van so they can sell cold brew again
- To replace essential equipment and restock their ingredients
- To help cover urgent living and business costs while they’re unable to trade
Any contribution – no matter the size – will mean more than you know. Even a small donation or a simple share of this page is a powerful way to show them they’re not alone, and that their community is standing beside them as they begin the long road back.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for helping Kirra Cold Brew find their feet again after one of the worst mornings of their lives.
