Kirks triple bypass journey

For those of you who may not be aware, my father, Kirk Howard, had a heart attack and was admitted into Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Peters on Monday, March 25th. He was taken back immediately to prepare for a Cardiac Cath procedure. During this procedure they found that he had multiple blockages and his heart was weakened with quite a bit of disease. This led them to be unable to put in the stents to help his heart. My dad instead needed to undergo bypass surgery and was transferred by ambulance to Missouri Baptist Medical Center where the surgery would take place. After a MRI they determined that my dad needed triple bypass surgery. He received his surgery on Friday, March 29th. While the surgery went well, his heart function is still not the best. He is on the road to recovery for his heart while also maintaining his diabetes.  Between both his heart and his diabetes the expenses for medication have quickly piled up even with health insurance. 

My ask is that if you can donate, any little bit will help my dad stay on top of his bills and help cover medication while he is unable to work.

My dad has worked in irrigation his whole life which is a very physical job and requires labor that he will be unable to do for the next few months. He will require a lot of extra care as he is temporarily physically unable to care for himself, drive or return to work. Unfortunately, he does not have the option of temporary disability.

If you cannot donate I ask that you please keep him in mind while saying your prayers. We are also open to suggestions on any way to seek financial help for him during the next few months.

This has been an extremely difficult time for him and our family. We appreciate everyone who has reached out with well wishes, kept us in their prayers and have helped us navigate this difficult time.
