Hi! I’m Kirk. I’m 11 years old. I love cuddles, kisses, and nose boops, but most of all, I love mom. My mom just found out I am sick and may need surgery to get better.

I have something called Hyperthyroidism, caused by cancer of the thyroid. It means my body’s metabolism is too fast and it is not able to process nutrients properly, causing high blood pressure, severe weight loss, and maybe kidney damage. The surgery to remove my sick thyroid is very expensive and so is the treatment leading up to it.

In the last year, I have lost over half my body weight, and while I used to be overweight, it’s still scary.

My mom is very sad. We lost my brother a little over a year ago, so me being sick so soon after is hard to process. We think he had cancer too, but we caught it too late. He was my best friend and we both miss him a lot.

Mom is a part-time worker and goes to school full-time for Nursing. She wants to help cancer patients like me!

Will you please help me be able to stay with my mom as long as possible?
