When Kirby suddenly became sick, my world turned upside down. He was rushed to the emergency vet, where we learned he was in heart and kidney failure. Despite the best efforts of the veterinary team, his condition was critical. We sought further help at the NC State veterinary school, where the cardiology department discovered a massive blood clot. In the end, I had to make the heartbreaking decision to put Kirby down immediately, so he wouldn’t suffer any longer.

The emergency medical bills from Kirby’s care have been overwhelming, and I’m struggling to manage the financial burden on my own. Kirby was more than just a pet—he was family, and losing him has left a huge hole in my heart. I want to honor his memory by asking for help to cover the costs of his care.
