K’s Top Surgery

Hi everyone :)

After years of deliberation and living my life openly as gender diverse, I have decided to undergo top surgery (double mastectomy). This is a life-changing part of my gender journey, in many ways, but one of so much joy. 

I am seeking financial assistance because as much as I wanted to wait until I was financially stable, I cannot wait any longer for what is necessary. 

I want to give myself as much time and peace of mind as possible to focus on ensuring the whole process runs as smoothly as possible. I received the official call at the start of September and will be having my surgery at the end of December.

What the costs will cover (UPDATED):

Surgery is projected to cost about 8-10k, anaesthetist 1.5k and private health excess is $500. Private health fees will cost about $350 in the lead up. WPATH letter process will cost around $475.

Due to your funding already I have paid the annual fee for private health, which is likely to relapse again in October 2024. THANK YOU. 

Other costs will go towards recovery items such as scar care cream, scar tape, comfort objects such as pillows etc relating to post surgery care.
