Kirandeep Kaur was a 24-year-old student from Punjab, India, who came to the UK with hopes of building a better future for herself and the family she had left behind. Like many international students, Kirandeep’s journey was made possible through enormous sacrifices by her family, who borrowed money and reportedly sold agricultural land to fund her education and give her the opportunity to establish a new life.
Tragically, Kirandeep was fatally stabbed in Hayes in a senseless and apparently unprovoked attack. A man has been charged with her murder, and the legal proceedings remain ongoing.
Kirandeep’s sudden death has left her young baby without a mother and her family in India devastated, burdened by grief and the significant debts incurred to support her future. Sri Guru Singh Sabha Southall is bringing the local community together to offer practical and financial assistance during this unimaginable time.
The funds raised will help with funeral arrangements and the repatriation of Kirandeep to India, ease the financial burden on her family, assist with outstanding loans and provide vital support towards the care and future of her four-month-old baby.
As a community, we cannot take away the family’s pain, but we can stand beside them and ensure they do not face the financial consequences of this tragedy alone. Every contribution, however large or small, will make a meaningful difference.
