We are making our first film! Arangetram is an intensely personal story for Nita: a coming-of-age story about an Indian classical (Bharatanatyam) dancer who needs to overcome grief, insecurity, and shame to do her debut recital. (Nita’s mother is providing the original music for this movie.)

We have an incredible team: Our male lead is Suraj Sharma (who played Pi in Life of Pi), our executive producer is Duane Adler (who created some of the biggest dance movies of the past 20 years, including Save the Last Dance and Step Up), and our director, Radha Mehta, had a film on this year's Oscars Longlist. Plus, this will be Nita's acting debut and our joint writing debut.

So we're dreaming big. Our aim is to debut the film at a major festival this summer. But we need your help: We need to raise $50K USD to afford the equipment, locations, and marketing we need to create a high-quality film.
