KINstinct arts is a creative platform bringing a public audience into the interrogation of nature* as kin, using the arts as vibrant communicator and provocateur.
KINstinct Arts will be running various symposia, workshops and exhibitions focused on the subject of arts and nature. The diverse range of speakers and artist involved with KINstinct Arts events will aim to provide an engaging platform from which to explore the connection between humans and all other non-human life, with the aim of questioning and undermining the framework of nature as other. At this moment in history, we feel more of an affinity towards artificial life than real life forms. We have lost our instinctual feeling of having grown from the Earth, and meanwhile, we watch as the Earth burns up before our eyes. It is now more than ever a time to acknowledge nature as kin, and bring the power of our collective minds together to transform our relationship with the living universe outside of our individual human bodies.
KIN Symposium will be the inaugural event for the creative platform, to take place in London in the autumn. The money raised will go towards the costs of the symposium, such as paying the speakers, the venue and documenting the symposium for accesible online viewing. The Symposium will be accompanied by a publication, which will be sent to all donators of above £10.
*Nature being all non-human species, including plant life and the debatably conscious geological phenomena of the universe.
