Kingston Walk for Jeff
Donation protected
To our friends and family of The Keg and beyond,
I wanted to reach out to our friends of the restaurant and let everyone know of a charity event we are doing for a staff member who has gone through a very traumatic experience last week.
Jeff has been a member of our team for the past decade, always dependable trustworthy, and always smiling while singing country music from the second he came in until the end of the day.
On Thursday July 11th, he was walking home through a park late at night when he and another female were viciously attacked and robbed. Jeff has no memory of what happened, but somehow managed to get himself home. The next thing he remembers is the police kicking in his door and arresting him as they believed he was the person who attacked the woman in the park. After originally being arrested the police then realized he was also a victim of the crime and sent him to KGH hospital where he went into emergency surgery for skull fractures and head wounds. After a week of being in the neurology unit of the hospital he has been released to Providence Care to start rehabilitation, which ultimately could take months. He has problem hearing, has immense headaches and is still suffering from memory loss.
This news shocked our entire restaurant as we have never witnessed a situation like this happen in our town and its terrible that it happened to one of our own. We decided we want to do something to help. we will be organizing a walk of the K & P Trail on August 4th. This is a 21 km trail hike that stretches from downtown Kingston to the northern Kingston boundary. All staff or friends that are interested in joining me are welcome to do so and our hope is that people can help by raising pledges for the event. We want Jeff to know we support him and can hopefully help raise money so he can get the full recovery he needs.
If $1000 is raised, I will personally wear at 40 lbs vest for the hike. We want this to be difficult to represent the struggle that Jeff is going through.
Furthermore, any sponsorship of over $25 will be entered a draw that I am donating for a dinner for two at the Kingston Keg and 2 floor tickets to the Glorious Sons concert at Richardson stadium on here in Kingston on Sept 21st. All donations can be E-transfer to me at [email redacted] or drop donations off at the Kingston Keg Steakhouse & Bar in person.
As a Kegger, I always say that the Keg is a family, and we hope that we can all help our family in its time of need.
Thanks for your time,
Adam Hall
