Kingsley's Kidney Removal & Start of Dialysis

 I am writing on behalf of my family. Kingsley who is a year and a half old has been admitted admitted into Children's Hospital on Monday, October 16, to get his left kidney removal surgery and peritoneal dialysis catheter  placed on his stomach and Hemo diaylisis port placed on his chest on October 19th at 9.30am. Kingsley, my son, will also be given medication that will kill his right kidney while it is still in his stomach.

 

Kingsley was born with

Nephrotic syndrome  

Acute kidney failure  

Parathyroid hormone excess  

Failure to thrive (child)  

Anemia with chronic illness  

Chromosome 17q23.1-q23.2 duplication syndrome  

Gastrostomy status  

Narrowing of the opening from the stomach to the intestine  

Developmental health problem  

Congenital heart disease  

High cholesterol or triglycerides  

Vitamin D deficiency  

High blood pressure

And Bone Disease.

I was encouraged to create this GoFundMe, in hopes to help alleviate some of our financial stress.

Since this a major surgery, hospitals have prepared us that will should be expecting a 2-3 month hospital stay. We are doing this surgery due to him loosing too much protein in his urine and he has not been gaining any weight. He is 16 months old and weighs 17 pounds. We are hoping this surgery will help save his life.
