Kingsgrove Bus v Bike Accident - Family Support
Donation protected
I am Dr Kah Heah, a National Home Doctor who whilst being out on home visits on Monday 28th January, I acted as one of the first responder to the horrific scene of two fatalities on Kingsgrove Road in Sydney.
It was later reported that the bus driver was using his mobile phone while driving. The 2 UberEats riders who were just waiting to make a turn, abruptly had their life taken by a bus hit them from behind.

The Taiwan Consulate in Sydney is offering some support to the family at this stage, however I was told of potential legal & repatriation cost that may have to be paid by the family. I would like to raise funds for the families to be able to help them through this stage.
Unfortunately, as a Home Doctor on the road all time I see accidents & near misses whilst driving with a mobile phone regularly.
Nothing will erase this scene from the memories of those involved and witnessed the event and the resuscitations that ensued. But this is insignificant compared to how their families will be feeling and what they are going through, especially towards the lunar new year. It is hard to comprehend the simple act of being distracted on a mobile or GPS can cause such suffering.
With this campaign I would like to
· raise repatriation funds for these families;
· raise awareness on the dangers of mobile phone use whilst driving.
With the support of St Johns Ambulance, we will provide first aid training to the community with any funds raised exceeding the target. In addition to the standard first aid training, St John Ambulance has agreed to design a program to cater for victims of motorbike accidents.
It is hoped that this will bring relief to those who are grieving as well as benefit the community for future.
