Kings Basketball Camp 2021
Last year was a crazy one for us all, a lot of unexpected things changed, and a lot of unexpected events occurred, shaking the lives of everyone. We had to cancel last year's camp because of the pandemic and the globally locked down boarders but this year we are coming back stronger and better than ever.
In 2019 we had more than twice as many kids than expected, and it with it came a larger success than we could have expected. This year we are implementing all the lessons we learned from 2019 and are ready to create an even more impactful experience. It was something special for all of us there to see young men and women receive brand new pairs of shoes to replace the shoes they own, many of which literally have holes in them.
We hope to witness and experience those powerful stories once again and will need help getting there.
Let's start by sharing more info about Kings Basketball Camp and Kings Hope foundation.
Mission Statement:
Acceptance, Love and Hope for All
Vision Statement:
To become a global and highly fulfilling representation of God’s love on earth by giving and connecting to and with the unconnected.
Overview of King’s Basketball Summer Camp May 6 Through May 15, 2021 Abuja Nigeria:
2021 Kings camp is projected to have 150 to 200 kids and will be focused on kids in Abuja, neighboring states, and cities (9 to 18 years of age). Kings Camp is designed to teach these kids not just basketball skills but also important life skills and mentorship in areas such as, hard work, goal setting, good life morals, importance of education and most of all give them the message of hope and help them understand that they are vital piece to God’s plan.

About Kingsley:
My name is Kingsley Duke, originally born in Nigeria, moved to the United States at a very early age. I moved to Addison Michigan where I lived with my adapted parents and siblings. I Graduated high school from Lenawee Christian School and currently a senior in college with a major in Welding Technology Engineering and a minor in Leadership and Project Management here at Ferris State University. The four board members of Kings Hope Foundation include Pastor Michael Drew Woods, Pastor John Maguire, Jedidiah Woods and myself.
Why:
God is a master artist and has crafted my life story in a way that enables me to relate to the less privileged, the hopeless and the unconnected. I know my life story can be an inspiration and hope for these kids because I once was in their position, trying to dream under the oppressive hand of poverty, and God has put it in my heart to reach out to them.
Progress Overview:
Kings Hope Foundation is a registered non-profit organization with the State of Michigan since 2019, with four board members. We successfully carried out our first camp May of 2019 in Abuja Nigeria. We were not able to do much in 2020 due to the pandemic however, we are currently working on becoming a registered 501C3 with the Federal Government as well as putting up our first website. We plan on taking Kings Camp to other part of the world in the near future once we start acquiring the essential resources and connections that we need. Although, our current focus is on the upcoming Kings Basketball Camp; making sure we have the necessary resources and planning required for the camp to be successful. Of which we are currently seeking donation and support.
Financial Related Needs for 2021 Kings Basketball Camp:
As Mentioned, we are projecting to have 150 -200 kids in the upcoming 2021 Kings Basketball Camp and our major expenses will be going towards paying for camp venue, camp crews/coaches, accommodation for campers, food/water, camp gears, transportation, rental of camp equipment’s, camp brochures, banners, and bibles.
A part from the financial needs we also are receiving shoes that we will bring to Nigeria and give to the campers. Last year we didn't have enough shoes for everyone and we hope that changes this year.
If you would like to help in other ways, please reach out to Kingsley or the team.

We are excited for this year and are confident that God will work just as he did last year. At the end of camp last year several young men and woman chose to believe in God and that is the whole goal of this, and we cant wait to see what other surprises we are greeted with this year.
