Plant-Based, Trilingual Public Elementary School Needs Seed Money
KING Charter Schools was created so that every child has the option to receive an advanced education (to include a trilingual immersion and a plant-based curriculum), without having to pay private school money to obtain one.
KING (as we affectionately call it) was imagined by a mom, Maria Solanki. Passionate about the future of her own daughter, she noticed the huge gap between public schools and private ones. —The typical public-school education does not offer similarly advanced opportunities for kids like the ones in private schools… This means is that KING plans to foster the positive and impactful engagement of our future generations as highly-advanced academics as well as globally well-prepared citizens for infinite successes based on a sophistically driven scholastic curriculum that includes a trilingual immersion in Spanish, Mandarin and English, wherein your child will learn to cultivate this global citizenry as they acquire a higher aptitude for acceptance, empathy, compassion, as well as civics. That compassion and empathy will stem from our Plant-Based Curriculum and Cafeteria, So, when it comes to future prospects for kids in general—Maria found a way to solve that problem.
Because Maria knew that she could not find those opportunities for her daughter in a typical public-school education, she decided to remove that roadblock. This is what KING Charter Schools is going to do, first in Florida—just outside St. Pete’s, and then in every state available. Her drive and passion set her into an 18-month journey until the application to start a charter school was submitted this past February. Along the way, Maria has met with other equally passionate people about the education and future of children—whether they have any kids or not. In order to secure approval, KING Charter School needs to raise enough seed money to be able to open its first location in August of 2020. Since February, KING has been waiting to hear whether it is approved or denied. And we need help.
When We Build One, We Will Build More …and Near You!
KING needs to raise $50,000 in order to build a school that will be entirely tuition-free, providing the community with opportunities that usually are out of reach for most families and then eliminates so many options for a majority of children. We believe that every child should have that option! A great and diverse education should certainly be attainable no matter the income level.
KING Charter Schools has big plans to start many locations and offer these types of programs to students all over the US and eventually all over the world. However, we have to start somewhere in order to do so, so our first location will open its doors in Pinellas County, Florida (near Tampa.) By supporting and helping us build our first location, you are supporting the possibility of expanding our schools all over the world to change many students lives and the future.
About the School
In addition to all of the state requirements, KING Charter Schools has two additional major focuses: a trilingual immersion program and sustainability. Both of these programs will guide children in a diverse and well-rounded educational experience lasting the rest of their lives.
By helping us build this school, you will be improving the future of our world by allowing our children to become well-cultured, well-rounded leaders.
Trilingual Immersion Program
Free of tuition, students will be immersed in a trilingual immersion program. Lessons will be taught in English, Mandarin, and Spanish thereby receiving a unique education that will turn them into respectable, global citizens. It has been proven that learning other languages improves brain functionality and of course, is more appealing to colleges and future employers.
While at school, students will follow a vegan, plant-based diet and will also take plant-based nutrition classes to inform them on how to live healthily, thereby securing life-long good habits. This diet has been proven to have many benefits for health including the mind, and the environment. Obesity rates are constantly growing and the high fat content in animals is a large contributor to obesity, heart problems, sleep issues, high cholesterol as well as high blood pressure. A plant-based diet aids in weight loss, but it also is easier to maintain a healthy weight. With proper nutritionists to help build out our school menus, the students will by no means be lacking any nutrition. Plants hold all the nutrients we need to be energized and healthy. Plant-based diets also improve sleep and mood which improves a child’s ability and willingness to learn. Paired with our trilingual immersion program, students will have very healthy minds that will help them learn the best to their abilities and get the scores they need to move forward into successful lives.
Plant-based diets have been proven to be a big savior when it comes to the environment. The animal agriculture industry contributes to be a large majority of the earth’s population and burns through its resources. At the rate we are going through our resources and how we treat our planet, we need to think about what state we are leaving it in for our children, or their children even. What will be left? If we don't make a change now, it's scary to think of the answer to that question. As human beings, it is really hard to break habits that have been instilled in us our whole lives which is why it is important to teach our children when they are young and their brains are still "sponges" to new information. This will set them up with important habits for life that will help save the environment and make them better citizens. At KING, students will have the opportunity to help garden and learn to plant their own food and KING will be a sustainable building and use resources cautiously. Students will learn ways to help the environment in the classrooms and through the way the school runs. They will also learn about the importance of protecting the environment and being cautious of how we use resources, reuse, and recycle.
We know you’re not alone. You’re probably a lot like Maria Solanki who lives on the west coast of Florida where the schooling options for her daughter is either a very expensive private school for a great education or a poorly performing public school. It doesn’t have to be that way. KING Charter Schools wants to create opportunities for all children to receive the best possible education and to activate the best people they can be by providing them with promising futures—without breaking the bank and while including every kid, not just a select few.
We believe that it is so important to teach children at a young age the benefits of a healthy diet and also how to take care of the environment. It is so much easier to instill all of these wonderful habits at a young age than it is to break bad habits later on. It is also significantly more challenging to learn additional languages as we get older. KING will not discriminate based on sex, race, financial status, etc. KING will offer a diverse learning environment that will give them the proper tools to become empowered citizens. Children are the future, and if we instill the tools and information they need to improve the world at a young age, they will be able to truly make a difference.
