Hope After the Storm — Supporting KINGMAN Families in Jamaica

In the wake of Hurricane Melissa, many communities across Jamaica continue to face severe devastation. Homes have been destroyed, families displaced, and access to food and clean water remains limited. The storm’s impact has been especially hard on vulnerable families — including those connected to KINGMAN, a children’s program that nurtures healing, inclusion, and emotional resilience.

This fundraiser is organized by Stichting Love Planet, a Caribbean and African refugee-led organization based in the Netherlands. Love Planet stands in solidarity with grassroots efforts across the region, supporting initiatives that center care, community, and dignity.

One of those initiatives is KINGMAN Jamaica, an anti-bullying and restorative justice program that brings children together to explore emotions, understand conflict, and find peaceful ways to communicate. The program includes children who face social and emotional challenges and provides them with tools to express themselves safely and confidently.

Because of the sensitive nature of our work, we do not share every session or image publicly. KINGMAN is built on trust — and we protect that trust by maintaining the privacy of children and their families. However, with parental consent, we are able to share a few moments that reflect the warmth, creativity, and resilience of our 2023 cohort.

We are still in the process of reaching several families who have been displaced by the storm. Many have lost their homes entirely, while others are struggling without food, clothing, or electricity. Your donations help us provide:

The Government of Jamaica has waived taxes and import duties on relief items, which means every contribution goes directly toward recovery.
