Alohaaa,

Ik wil graag iets spannends met je delen! Vanaf september mag ik gaan deelnemen aan de Kingdom Creatives Discipleship Training School (DTS) aan de YWAM University of the Nations in Kona, Hawaii!!

Wat voor mij heel onverwachts kwam, want ik ben recent verhuisd naar Harderwijk en had zelf niet in mijn gedachten om een DTS te gaan doen. Ik had namelijk genoeg redenen waarom ik het niet zou doen, vond ik zelf. Ondanks dat, ervaarde ik dat God tot mij sprak om dit te gaan doen. En toen kwam ik de Kingdom Creatives DTS tegen.

Want als je mij een beetje kent dan weet je dat ik ervan houd om creatief bezig te zijn. En ik voel mij ook echt geroepen om daar God in te dienen. Of het nou met mijn kunst is of met social media tot aan storytelling. Ik vind het helemaal geweldig! Dus toen ik deze school zag, mij in geloof had aangemeld en ik al heel snel werd aangenomen, vielen alle puzzelstukjes op zijn plek..

Maar wat houdt het nou eigenlijk allemaal in zo’n DTS?

De Kingdom Creatives DTS is een intensief programma van 6 maanden voor kunstenaars, storytellers en entertainers. Het doel is om te leren hoe we onze creatieve talenten kunnen inzetten om Gods liefde wereldwijd te delen. Het programma is opgedeeld in twee fasen:

De lesfase (3 maanden in Hawaii):

Hierin krijg ik bijbelonderwijs, persoonlijke coaching en mentorschap van professionals uit de creatieve industrie. Ik leer hier hoe ik mijn geloof en talenten kan inzetten voor het Koninkrijk van God. Maar het zal ook erg praktisch zijn, waarbij we naast het leren veel zullen doen.

De uitzending fase / outreach (3 maanden wereldwijd):

Daarna gaan we alles toepassen op outreach, een reis van 3 maanden lang, ergens in de wereld. Maar waar? Dat hoor ik nog. Tijdens deze zendingsreis gaan we naar plekken in de wereld waar hulp nodig is. Daar zullen we op onze eigen creatieve manier hoop brengen en contact maken met de lokale bevolking.

En waarom wil ik dan toch gaan?

Ik geloof dat creativiteit, samen met Gods liefde, zo krachtig is. Mensen zegenen met een stukje van Gods hart is dan ook iets wat ik graag doe en wil blijven doen. Boven alles geloof ik daarom dat God mij roept om te gaan, om Hem te volgen, ondanks mijn eigen gevoel.. Want als het aan mij lag dan had ik eerlijk gezegd misschien wel een makkelijkere (en goedkopere haha) route gekozen ;). Maar God zei: "Voor Mij is niets onmogelijk. Wees stil, en weet dat Ik God ben.” En dus wil ik samen met Hem gaan!

Maar ik wil ook jou uitnodigen om met mij dit avontuur aan te gaan. Ik neem je graag mee, dus volg mij vooral op Instagram (@rebeccaonmission) en/of Tiktok (@beccaelisabeth) waar ik jullie up to date wil houden.

I’d love to share something exciting with you! Starting this September, I’ll be joining the Kingdom Creatives Discipleship Training School (DTS) at YWAM University of the Nations in Kona, Hawaii!!

This came as a complete surprise to me because I recently moved to Harderwijk, and doing a DTS wasn’t something I had planned at all. In my own mind, I had plenty of reasons not to do it. Despite that, I felt God speaking to me and calling me to take this step. Then I came across the Kingdom Creatives DTS.

If you know me even a little, you know how much I love being creative. I truly feel called to serve God through creativity. Whether that’s through my art, social media, or storytelling. I absolutely love it! So when I found this school, applied in faith, and was accepted so quickly, all the pieces of the puzzle fell into place.

So, what exactly is a DTS?

The Kingdom Creatives DTS is an intensive six-month program designed for artists, storytellers, and entertainers. Its purpose is to teach us how to use our creative gifts to share God’s love around the world. The program is divided into two phases:

Lecture Phase (3 months in Hawaii):

During this phase, I’ll receive biblical teaching, personal coaching, and mentorship from professionals in the creative industry. I’ll learn how to use both my faith and my creative talents to serve the Kingdom of God. It’s also a very hands-on program, so alongside learning, we’ll be creating and putting things into practice.

Outreach Phase (3 months somewhere in the world):

After that, we’ll put everything we’ve learned into action during a three-month outreach trip somewhere in the world. I don’t know the destination yet—that will be announced later. During this mission trip, we’ll travel to places where help is needed and use our creativity to bring hope and build meaningful connections with local communities.

So why do I want to go?

I believe that creativity, combined with God’s love, is incredibly powerful. Being able to bless people with a glimpse of God’s heart is something I love doing and want to continue doing. Above all, I believe God is calling me to go, to follow Him, even when it doesn’t necessarily feel most comfortable to me. If it were entirely up to me, I probably would have chosen an easier (and cheaper, haha) path. But God reminded me: “Nothing is impossible for Me. Be still, and know that I am God.”
