Cooper the Pooper’s health

Being moved by everyone reaching out to us wanting to help Cooper recover, I decided to open a go fund me to help towards his recovery.
On April 17th I had to rush Cooper to the vet as he woke up with a slight head tilt and his left ear down. He has been battling an ear infection, pasteurella, after being bitten by another rabbit on his ear. It’s been a long battle with having it heal and come back. This time it’s come back in full force.
He’s currently on 8 medications with a strong antibiotic to help keep the infection at bay. He has regained his balance and is no longer rolling, however his head is tilted to the left. Due to the long term of this ear infection, we fear it has reached his inner ear affecting the facial nerve and ability to blink with his left eye. Our vet, Dr. Santiago Diaz, suspects Horner’s syndrome.
Ever since April 17th Cooper has been in and out of the vets office, tested for e.cuniculi and coming back negative. However, he hasn’t gotten any better so we have scheduled an appointment to see Dr. James Wellehan, a specialist at the University of Florida. There, they will do a CT scan to take a look at his ear as it seems that all the scarring from the ear infection healing and coming back has been closing his ear canal.
We we are hoping to get some answers and learn how we will move forward. Being a surgery, and if so we’ll need to discuss the situation as Cooper’s age is a factor. Or keeping him comfortable until he decides he’s no longer stronger to fight.
Thankfully, he is able to walk without tumbling, he’s eating a little in his own, but still in between he gets critical care, and pooping and peeing normal.
Thank you ALL for suggesting we open a go fund me for Cooper. Your love, care and support has been overwhelming, it is incredible seeing how many love Cooper so much. ♥️
