After almost an entire year living on the streets of Los Angeles a family was able to earn this boy's trust and get him safely into their home.  His old scars and hanging left hind leg indicated a significant trauma, possibly being hit by a car, but you couldn't tell by his smile and sweet disposition he was in pain as dogs are so incredibly resilient and he had clearly learned to live with it for some time.

They let him settle for a few days then took him in to be scanned for a microchip and surprisingly he had a chip registered to a nearby address with contact info.  The family was called and verified their info, address included, and when they were informed their dog had been found they denied having ever had a dog.  The family who found him then reached out to our rescue for help and told us about this incredible boy who is also dog, cat and child friendly.  

King has since seen our vet for an exam and xrays, and we have learned that he needs an FHO Surgery with an Orthopedic Surgeon as his entire hip is hanging out of the socket.  Ironically we have recently rehabilitated another one of our rescue's dogs through the same procedure.  We also learned his teeth are ground all the way down to his gums which is common when dogs are left outside majority of their lives.  He is estimated around 6 years old.  Even though we didn't have the resources financially we trusted we would find a way to help him and we had to keep this deserving boy from having to be taken to a shelter where they don't have the ability to address his medical needs.  

Rescue Family, we need your help.  We have found an incredible foster willing to keep him safe while he heals through his procedure and rehabilitation.  Now we need to raise the funds to cover his $2500 Surgical exam, Pre-op testing and FHO Surgery that will be done at VCA ASEC, as well as an additional $2500 to cover his Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation so we can then find this angel his forever home.  We know we can do it together.
