Update-We want to thank everyone who has visited our Lemonade for Lahaina stands so far and for contributing to this GoFundMe page! We greatly appreciate all of your donations.
Mahalo nui loa,
Lily and Caroline
Lily and Caroline are both fourth-grade students in San Diego, CA. When Lily learned about the devastating fires in Lahaina and how the elementary school burned down, she knew she had to find a way to help the families and children of Lahaina. At the same time, Caroline’s Grandmother was deploying with the Red Cross to Lahaina to work with victims of the fires. And since just a few months ago Lily and Caroline visited Lily’s Grandparents’ home in nearby Napili, the two friends decided to team up.
Lily’s close family friend, Ms. Debby Kaiwi, was a beloved third-grade teacher and librarian at the King Kamehameha III Elementary School for over 30 years. Ms. Kaiwi had lovingly modernized the library there and so the idea was formed to raise money for the King Kamehameha III Elementary School students. All funds will be donated and used to help replace school supplies and buy books for the library in Ms. Debby’s honor.
In addition to this GoFundMe page, Lily and Caroline have been busy hosting lemonade stands in their neighborhood. Their lemonade stands feature homemade chocolate chip cookies and Rice Krispie treats, lemonade (of course), and even plumeria hair clips to help spread the feeling of Aloha. Warwick’s in La Jolla generously allowed the girls to set up their fundraiser in front of the shop, which has been an amazing success. The girls plan to have additional stands in order to reach their fundraising goal!
