I hate that I’ve had to get to a point to ask for financial help - we’ve had friends and family help, but it hasn’t gotten better.
If you’ve made it this far, please At least read our story below, even if you aren’t able to help financially and at least keep us in your thoughts and prayers.
We’ve made it 3 months since the accident, and we now feel very lost. I’m not sure what else we can do to continue to keep up with bills and medical expenses and be able to make sure health is the priority..
For those that don’t know yet, here’s our story…
Jeremy had his accident on July 18th, 2022. He fractured his neck, has an incomplete spinal cord injury, he broke 5 ribs. He was on a breathing tube, feeding tube, had a chest tube, and was a quadriplegic.
I was also 3 weeks away from giving birth to our sweet little girl and had to go to Nashville to be with Jeremy - I ended up having our Daughter at Vanderbilt then had to go home.. Jeremy did not get to meet his daughter until she was 3 weeks old. Even then he has not been able to hold or feed her because of his condition and it bothers all of us.
He has since then, regained feeling, got off the vent, and went to Sheppard Rehab center in Atlanta, GA to try and regain some mobility. We pretty much moved to Atlanta for 2 months, along with Jeremy’s parents- to support Jeremy throughout all of this..
I have also had to run our business, take care of our daughter, household, bills and Jeremy throughout this whole timeline of events.. our families have been a big help and blessing to us, but they can only do so much as well..
We returned home on October 6th with high hopes of getting a routine and making forward progress. We’ve been home two weeks and it’s been nothing but hardship for us all. He is confined to a manual wheelchair that he cannot maneuver and that has made him completely dependent on us.. Jeremy’s condition slowly became worse each day, from a minor infection..
On top of this.. i had appendicitis the 15th of October and had to be transported to Jackson Madison county hospital for surgery so now I am even more limited to my care abilities, I’m not even supposed to pick up our 11lb daughter! In the midst of all the chaos, Jeremy had his first seizure this morning, Oct 21st, and we had to call to have him airlifted. My nerves are gone, I think the family is at their breaking point as well.
We’ve already put everything in God’s hands, but something has to give. Anything helps at this point - we still have equipment we have co pays on, no telling what life flight will cost, and if insurance doesn’t continue to pay for Rehabilitation we will have to come out of pocket because we don’t want a relapse of the past couple of weeks. Hopefully this story touches someone and maybe it’ll help another family one day as well.
We pray for healing and good health along with lifted spirits ❤️ Thanks everyone
