Help the King Family recover after a car accident

Hi, my name is Leslie, and I'm starting this fund to raise money for my closest friends, The King Family, who live in Climax, North Carolina.

On December 4th, they were driving home from a day of running errands when a driver sped through a red light and t-boned their car. Jem was driving, Jason was in the passenger seat, and their toddler Elsie was securely strapped into her safety seat in the back seat. Jem sustained multiple fractures in her back as well as other injuries from the seatbelt and airbag. Jason's right leg/ankle is broken in multiple places and will require extensive surgeries. He also has injuries from the seatbelt and airbag. Thankfully, their toddler Elsie was completely safe in the back seat, and only received minor abrasions from her car seat straps doing their job.

The other driver in the accident is in the hospital with critical injuries, and sadly his 4-year-old did not survive the crash. Everyone is heartbroken over this outcome. We hope his recovery goes smoothly, and that their family finds peace during this time.

Right now, Jason is awaiting the first of what may be multiple surgeries to fix his leg. He will have a long road ahead of him to recover. Jem's broken vertebrae are still being evaluated for the course of treatment. Their car is completely totaled and will need to be replaced.

The physical and emotional toll this accident has caused them is going to take years to recover from. Jason is a Marine veteran and served multiple tours in the Middle East. He is no stranger to destruction, but this was his family, and this accident has impacted them all very hard. If you can spare anything to help the King family recover, it would be so appreciated by them and those who love them.
