Hi everyone! If you know me, you probably know how much I love this big boy Caesar and how special he is to me. I have known Caesar for most of his life and instantly gained a strong bond with him. He is a 3 year old Great Dane who has the biggest personality and sweetest soul.

Caesar's original owner brought him to the daycare I work at and things didn't work out with them, so that is how I ended up with him! Luckily, my brother's fiance's dad was a big dog lover and fell in love with Caesar. He adopted him and those two became the best of friends! Unfortunately, we lost Jeff unexpectedly in February this year and miss him everyday. So Caesar has been back in my care and recovering from the loss of his best friend. 

He has been doing fantastic and keeping smiles on all of our faces, until this past weekend where he took a turn for the worse. He was rushed to the hospital for severe stomach issues and was discharged Saturday because they thought they saw enough improvement to send him home. Well, today he was rushed back to the emergency room and x-rays showed that his stomach had completely flipped.

This is common in big breed dogs, but is extremely life threatening. Receiving that phone call was absolutely devastating and I was given two options, to go forward with a VERY expensive surgery to save his life or to euthanize. My heart dropped and tears instantly started pouring from my eyes. I couldn't imagine saying goodbye to this gentle giant, especially after all that he has been through. He is so special to so many people, so we decided to push forward with the surgery. 

Caesar will be getting surgery tonight at one of the best animal hospitals and should be able to make a full recovery. They will tack his stomach down so this never, ever happens again. As you can imagine, the cost for the surgery is not cheap.... That is why I am making this page and asking for all the help I can get to pay off these medical bills. 

My rescue is a non-profit organization and runs strictly on fundraising... With everything going on with COVID-19, my big fundraising event got cancelled and I have been extremely limited with what I can do to raise money for the dogs. So please, with all my heart, I ask you to share this page so I can raise the necessary funds for all of Caesar's medical needs. He is so special to so many people and everyone who knows him adores him. Also, he is a constant reminder of our beloved Jeff Markol and is a part of him that brings so many smiles to our faces.
