Hello my name is Cathy Butler and I have set up this GoFundMe for Kimberly, a client turned friend of mine for over 15 years.  She first told me last year that she was having stomach pain and was first diagnosed with an acidic stomach.  However, feeling it was much more than that, she insisted her doctor run more test and was eventually diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, stage 2, in October 2021.  Needless to say it was heartbreaking to her family, friends and colleagues but the doctors felt they caught it in time if she received treatment.  They started and immediate course of treatment which included chemotherapy and radiation.  This treatment started as a four aggressive treatment process to shrink the tumor that has now been extended into an eight treatment process.  As with most people it really hit her hard physically and mentally.  Since her relocation to San Antonio from Louisiana due to Hurricane Katrina, she has always worked and provided for family.  That was a difficult transition, from living in her car to finding housing and a job she persevered and now, though she continues to try and work along with her son’s help, she needs our kindness.  

Severe fatigue, nausea, pain, loss of appetite, debilitating loss of concentration and neuropathy in her hands and legs has left her unable to keep up with her monthly living responsibilities and their only means of transportation has recently broken down making it difficult for her son to get work, take her to hospital visits, pick up her medications, grocery shopping, etc. This added stress is weighing on her and her son but Kim is truly a fighter and she needs and wants to live through this for the sake of her family.  Asking for help is not her style and she does not know I am doing this but I felt compelled to try and help relieve even more pressure outside of what is already being done to help her and her 26 year old son Kyrie, her sole caretaker since this began.

As Kim goes through these final four more aggressive chemotherapy treatments plus six radiation treatments sheremains positive but does worry how they will manage with everyday living.  I hope you can help financially and prayerfully to at least remove the stress of wondering if she will still have a decent place to stay when this is over.

We want all the energy she does have to be focused on getting through treatment and healing.
