Friends and colleagues of Miranda and Kelly Burger: 
As many of you know, little Benjamin Burger was born in late 2020 - he was born pink, beautiful, and tiny. A few hours after his birth, nurses discovered Benjamin with cyanosis and he was later diagnosed with pulmonary atresia with ventricular septal defect – a complex congenital heart defect. The Burger family was emergency airlifted to Seattle Children’s hospital where Benjamin has received care from their cardiology team. Benjamin's condition required open-heart surgery, which he had in mid-May. Complications arose post-surgery and Benjamin remains in the hospital in critical condition. 

The Burger's have used the available state Paid Family Medical Leave dollars for the year and Miranda has a minimal amount of paid leave remaining. Her colleagues at Olympic Community of Health seek donations to support the family's finances while they focus on Benjamin's recovery. If you are unable to support them financially, please send positive, healing thoughts to them.
