Kindal’s Dream: From Parisian Streets to Berkeley’s Campus

My Dream Educational Trip to Paris, France and Beyond…

I am very excited to share that I have been accepted to take part in the Council on International Educational Exchange (CIEE) Summer Abroad Program – French Language & Culture in Paris, France. I am honored to have been selected for this amazing experience.

It has been my dream to travel to Paris, France, to experience firsthand the style and allure of Parisian life. This is a four-week educational trip where I will live with a host family, share French meals, and take many excursions to beautiful and exciting locations filled with history and culture. I will be fully immersed in the language and local customs.

This summer trip abroad will be instrumental in growing my language and cultural competency. I will gain college credits, build life skills, and establish long-lasting meaningful relationships.

However, my summer doesn’t stop there…

When I return from Paris, I will be heading straight to Berkeley. I have been granted acceptance into UC Berkeley’s College of Environmental Design embARC Summer Academy. For four weeks on campus, I will be studying the world of architecture, urban design, and sustainable city planning. This program will give me a head start in obtaining my future career as an architect.

Last on my list of plans for the summer is overnight cheer camp. I received prior approval from embARC’s staff to travel to Reno, NV for 3 days to attend cheer camp with Vanden Vikings Cheer, where I serve as varsity captain.

I have worked diligently throughout the years in hopes I would put myself in a position to have such experiences. My dreams of traveling to Paris and becoming an architect go back to elementary school. I am thrilled to see these dreams beginning to come true.
