Fundraiser for Kim's Kids

My name is Joelle Scally and I am an RN at Glens Falls Hospital. I have had the pleasure of working with Kim a few times. My self and Jess Percetti RN, who also works at GFH (and graduated from Nursing school with Kim) felt so strongly after this tragedy that something needed to be done for Kim's daughters that this page was started.
Kim was an amazing smart, caring, funny and compassionate woman who would do anything for anyone. She returned to school as an adult to get her RN degree. Scared and nervous to start this endeavor, she could not wait to show her daughters that no matter your age, hard work and perserverance will always pay off in the end.
Kim wanted to become a nurse for a multitude of reasons including improving her childrens lives. As most of know there are ups and downs in nursing school and Kim definately had those too, but she made it through.
In December of 2014 she got her pin and was offically a graduate nurse....She had done it. Her family was so proud of her!
She started her first job on a difficult floor and could not have been more happy. Until.....
Things started not going so well so she moved out of the family home this fall.
Today she went to get some of her things and lost her life at the hands of her husband, who then took his own leaving their 3 children (all girls) without a mother, a roll model, a sounding board, someone they can share moments with, and all the things that a mother is to a daughter as she grows up.
In honor of Kim and all that she did for everyone of her patients and her girls, I have started this page to help with any expenses for the girls or get them some things they may need.
As her fellow RN's and medical community I think that it should be our honor to give aid in their time of need.
The money donated here will be for any expenses for the girls, as the primary bread winners of their family unit are now gone.
We plan on making arrangements with the family to set up a checking/savings account where the girls guardian can access these funds when needed!
