Anyone that has been lucky enough to meet and get to know Kim Willcock over the years, will know what a wonderful friend, mentor, colleague, and all-round amazing person she is.

Friends and colleagues, we are reaching out for your help!! You may be aware that in 2021 Kim was devastatingly diagnosed with stage 4 bowel cancer.

This diagnosis as you can imagine has been extremely difficult to come to terms with for Kim and her loved ones. After multiple operations and treatments, that sadly haven’t worked, Kim is now looking to have a specialist chemotherapy treatment (HIPEC) that if successful could increase her survival by up to 5 years (if not longer).

Without this treatment Kim has sadly been told that she likely has 3-6 months to live. A heart-breaking prognosis that no one wants to accept and the harsh reality of this disease and what it is capable of.

This treatment (HIPEC) will involve a large operation, which of course comes with its risks and is extremely expensive (circa. £100,000) but will be worth it’s weight in gold if it gives Kim extra time to enjoy her life and spend it with her family. Constraints of private medical insurance mean that only a portion of the cost will be covered by them.

We want to help fundraise as much money as possible for Kim to take away the added pressure of raising the funds whilst she is already going through so much.

Please help us to help Kim in anyway that you can, no matter how big or how small, your donation will make a huge difference.

We are extremely grateful to anyone that can help us in our mission to raise this money.

With many thanks
xxx

** EDIT UPDATE **
Kim's medical team reached out to her to state that she needed to press on with her surgery or potentially forgo it as her disease might become too far advanced for the treatment. This said she went ahead with the surgery on Wednesday 18th October. The current update we have is that whilst it was far more complex than they thought, but it was very successful and Kim can begin her journey to recovery. The bill for this surgery remains and as such our fundraising MUST continue. We are so grateful for the incredible response from you all so far, and it's really helped Kim feel that she could make the surgery possible. Thank you.
