Kim's journey to cancer free

I hope that family, friends, and acquaintances will share this widely. My name is Kim Gill, and I was recently diagnosed with endometrial serous carcinoma, which is an aggressive form of endometrial cancer. I am usually a very private person, so sharing this journey of passing through cancer is not in my comfort zone. I am sharing it because I need your prayers and I need your help financially. Please join me on this journey with your prayers and your financial support because I truly need your help.

I had a small nagging pain in my pelvic area for some time. I hope everyone will get those little nagging pains checked out. I didn’t know it was an aggressive form of cancer growing in my endometrial lining until February 2024 when it exploded into a pain that rivaled childbirth contractions, a pain I couldn't ignore. I thank God for that pain that triggered medical tests that found the serous carcinoma. At the same time, I was ending my primary caregiver role for mom who has been living with dementia and living at home with me. Mom entering longterm care freed me up to take care of myself without worrying about mom.

At the time of diagnosis, March 2024, the cancer had already spread into my pelvis and back and I was experiencing soreness near my liver. You can look up the stages of cancer to understand that part. I choose not to subscribe to the fear and limiting beliefs that surround certain words, so I will not go into that here.

My Gynecological Oncologist at Princess Margaret Cancer Centre asked me to do 6 rounds of chemotherapy and surgery with a best case scenario of having to repeat chemotherapy every 2-3 years because the cancer would come back. That is not my path because I have faith that God is working out a full and complete healing. Complete remission and recovery is my journey.

I learned about the incredible work that is being done in Mexico by the Immunotherapy Institute and other oncological centres. They offer low dose chemotherapy (not available in Canada or the USA), Dendretic Cell Therapy, and a variety of immunotherapies that are available only at higher cost in Canada and the US. Many people go to these centres after chemotherapy fails them and many of them still get good results despite their compromised immune system. I decided to go directly to the centre as my best path for clawing back the aggressive cancer and becoming cancer free.

I emptied all of my savings to get the first series of treatments which included low-dose chemotherapy and other therapies. I have had excellent results so far. I am pain-free and healing. But it took time to get here and three weeks is not enough time to reverse the damage. Remission is multilayered and will take more treatments and more time. The next phase of treatment will cost $30K CAD. I am asking family, friends, and anyone who God puts it in your heart to help for help. Thank you in advance knowing that I am not able walk this journey or carry this cost without the generosity and loving kindness of all who touch my life in support.

I would also like to say some special thank yous to my loving family and friends who are already walking beside me. You have taken me to medical appointments, provided food, checked in on my son to make sure he is ok, prayed with me, stayed with me, cleaned my home for me, and provided distraction and momentary normalcy for me in the midst of this experience. I cannot thank you enough. My heart is expanded and eternally grateful for the love you show me daily. I continue to cherish and depend on your loving support.

I will update you on the progress of my healing and recovery. I will also give full accounting for the use of all of the generous donations that you entrust to me. The ideal timeline for continuing treatment is May 27, 2024 so we can build on the work that was done recently.

I know that this diagnosis is and has been shocking for everyone who hears it. Looking at me, you may not be able to tell what I am going through. Despite the critical nature of this illness, I firmly believe that God will use this situation for my good and to God's glory. Let's be brave together as God works out a complete healing and recovery.
