Dear Loved Ones, Friends, and Community,

We are creating this space to support Kim Thomas, our beloved Mom, Wife, Sister, Aunt, Friend, and Mentor who is experiencing a time of need.

Kim has dedicated her life to service in all aspects of her life. Through her role as program director and lead instructor at Positive Strides Therapeutic Horse Riding Program she has opened the wonderful world of horses to folks of all different abilities and has formed special bonds with many families. She is also an active member of the Bridge Community Church in Federalsburg.

Kim has the biggest, most generous heart and is always giving to others, be it her time in the riding ring or volunteering, a surprise gift she think someone might like, or her delicious baked goods :) Kim and her husband also have quietly funded “Meals On Wheels” for several folks in their community, and often have cooked and delivered meals home cooked in their own kitchen with love.

In October of 2024 Kim was diagnosed with Cancer and has been undergoing an aggressive Chemotherapy Regimen. On January 19, she experienced a serious complication which required 3 major surgeries in 4 days. During her surgeries, she suffered dangerously low blood pressure and spent almost one week intubated in the ICU. She has made some strides but is still in the hospital.

Kim is fighting very hard and is

eager to get back to home to her beloved students and wants to continue her work helping others however she is able.

Kim’s health insurance has not covered most of her Cancer Treatment nor her medications and will not cover the majority of her hospital stay.

We have had many kind loved ones who have come to us with generous hearts asking if they can help and we are so grateful. Any donations received will directly benefit Kim to help defray the cost of her hospital stay, surgeries, and after care. Our hope is that by taking some of the financial worry off of her, she can focus on healing and getting back to her life of service.

We cannot begin to say how grateful we are to everyone. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for caring, for helping, praying, checking in, and sending flowers and cards!
