Kim’s after life experiences

As her time comes to an end. Many of you knew who my mom was. Very hard working, caring and just a happy soul. She was my high school lunch lady at Morton High, a lunch lady at miller as well as Eads . About 2 years ago we got a tragic call that changed our lives. She was diagnosed with Stage 4 metastatic breast cancer. Although it was a stab in the gut to all of us, we still put up a good fight and eventually got it under control. Her tumor markers were down to 51 and we thought “ yes we are winning this together as a family”. But then things took a turn for the worst. A month and a half ago, my mom had gone into the hospital due to a bad headache and her hemoglobin being low. They prescribed her a medication to help with the extreme headaches and she was sent home. Unfortunately a day or two after she had a seizure and was sent back to the hospital to evaluate. She spent most of her time this last month in and out of the hospital and in constant pain. We had many many tests done and couldn’t seem to figure out what was going on. They said they had found a small mass on her brain and we were going to treat it but we needed her out of the hospital long enough to be able to get it done. As time went on she began to drift in and out of consciousness and at times would forget who she was or who it was around her. Finally after more and more tests were done we got the news that we all dread. The cancer has spread to her spinal fluid, and she isn’t expected to live longer than 3 months. Everything happened so suddenly, nobody was prepared to have this happen so soon so quickly . Anyone who knows my mom knows she DID NOT like bugs at all, so when her time comes she would like to be cremated. Any help for my mom and family will be greatly appreciated. Any money we raise will go fully to her with any at home care before her time, as well as funeral expenses, cremation etc.  It’s been a very hard emotional last few weeks and anything and anyone who helps or reaches out, myself and my family appreciate it. As her time comes to a end, we wish that everyone keep her in your prayers, as us as a family do what we can to make sure her last few weeks are as comfortable as possible and spent with everyone she loves around her.

Thank you to everyone, sincerely the Lake/Aleman family ❤️
