Dad, Papa Kimo, Braddah Kimo, Mr.Aloha, Da Laulau man. These are a few names that my daddy goes by.
Aloha,
My name is Leihua and I am the oldest of my dads children.
Sadly my dad is another victim of Covid-19 he got diagnosed with Covid pneumonia.
September 18,2021 is a day I will never forget. 11:30am I got a phone call from my dad. He was crying uncontrollably trying to comprehend what the nurse just told him. With fear in his voice and tears streaming down his face he expressed to me that they have to put him into a induced Coma, paralyze him and place him on the ventilator because his lungs were shutting down.
Speechless I just stared into his eyes trying to find the right words to tell him. Before I had a chance to talk I bursted out in tears as the nurse grabs my dads phone and tells me I need to say my good bye’s because they are taking him down to the ICU. I yelled at the nurse and told her “Don’t tell me I have to tell my daddy bye”
I demanded She give the phone back to my dad so I could give him my words of encouragement. The last thing I told him was “Daddy I love you, you are strong! Jehovah God is with you. I will pray for peace and I pray for comfort and May you not have to suffer”
Just then the nurse came back on the phone and said I have only a few mins to say my good byes. I told her “Kimo has 5 children you will wait till all his children get a chance to shower him with words of comfort, encouragement and love”
The next time we seen our daddy he was on the ventilator. He looked peaceful and comfortable, just what we as his children hoped for.
If you had the chance to meet our dad I’m sure you’d say his heart is so pure. Always has a smile on his face, always singing and always there if you needed anything. Many times he’d cook and we would ask “Why such a big pot?” His response would be “I going feed dad guys down the road they hungry, get more happiness in GIVING than receiving” I feel like that’s something he truly lived by. Everything he did he did from the heart and never grudgingly.
But now my daddy needs help. We his Ohana are now Humbly asking for your help.
We thank you from the bottom of our hearts for all the Phone calls, text messages but more importantly the continued prayers for our dad.
