Late on Sunday night on December 13th Kimo suddenly collapsed from a heart attack while he was at home. He was transported to the hospital but unfortunately he never regained conciousness. Sadly Kimo's body could not recover and he passed peacefully Wednesday night 12-16, surrounded by family and friends.
Before he passed away, his son Evan was able to share stories, songs and talk to Kimo. Evan is confident that he heard all that was shared on some level. So if you asked for something to be shared with Kimo, rest easy in knowing that was done.
The entire family wants everyone to know how thankful they are for all of the support and kindness that has been shown to them. It is very clear that Kimo meant the world to so many people. He touched people with his humor, his singing, his smile, and even his politics.
It is the family's wish to take Kimo's ashes, as well as his Mother's and Father's ashes, and travel to Hawaii where he was born. Then to scatter them there so they can be at peace together, where they once were together as family. The next few weeks will be rough on Kimo's family, lots of decisions, tasks and more. Expenses can be overwhelming when something like this happens so suddenly.
How can you help? Your love and prayers are appreciated, and this GoFundMe is a way for us all to say goodbye to Kimo without the worry of how to pay for everything. All the funds will go straight to Kimo's son Evan Pelletier. They will be used for memorial expenses and any other unexpected end of life expenses that may arise.
Again the family is so thankful to all of you who have shown so much care, compassion and love. And keep those stories coming!
