Kimmy secure a home
Donation protected
HI, my name is Kimmy. I have stage 3 breast cancer and have been having treatment since December 2022. Due to medications (I have no short term memory) and with homelessness, it has been really difficult to secure a job. I have been through the family court system to no avail and since my son is no longer coming home I have to find myself a wee home.
It's minus 2 here in Tasmania and I can no longer lean on the lovely friends I have been leaning on. Sleeping in the car does not fit well for cancer healing.
I am in the process of being assessed for a permanent disability which will hopefully mean I will receive the disability pension and be able to afford housing.
Centrelink have me on jobseeker in which I clear $450 a week. Since all rentals start at $300 this doesn't leave much for food, transport, healing and medications.
I am trying to raise enough for a bond and a couple of months rent to get me through the winter.
At this stage my scans are showing all clear however being premenopausal means that the scans may not be showing it. It's too early to tell!
Thank you wonderful friends.
