⭐ We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give" (Winston Churchill)

I want to tell you the ways Kim Little & her family have impacted us, but I know anyone who knew her will have a loving story to share as well – if you can, please do. Whether here or publicly; when most people pass away, they don’t hear how they impacted others lives, how much they were loved, or how much they will be missed. Through these sad, horrible upcoming weeks & months, you have that chance.

I first met Kim when my daughter was about 6 months old, but, it wasn't until my daughter was almost 3 that the impact of Kim & her family would hit us like a rare, bright & incredible shooting star.

I ran into Kim one night when I was just out getting some air, when we started talking about my desperate need for childcare as my provider had just given a weeks notice. Somehow, this angel of a women decided instantly to open her home & her heart to my kids. She calmly, with a smile on her face, a little laugh in her voice said, "well, I've been telling Jamie I wanted to reopen my daycare, so I guess I just did!"

She doesn't miss a chance to decorate for the holidays or football! Driving to her place close to a holiday was always magical! The front of her house was what you could only imagine Easter, Christmas, Halloween .. or the Superbowl – would look.

My son was older, only needed before and after care for a year or 2, but my daughter, she needed full day right from when Kim reopened her daycare. She grew up with Kim as her "other mother", she instantly had 3 sisters and another brother who loved her as one of their own. Kim's family became my daughter's family; a new set of grandparents, aunt & uncle, and a couple of cousins thrown in too. It became trips to the cottage, sleepovers or movie nights, even as my daughter got older, the family bonds never frayed. It's a close knit family, anyone involved with is blessed to be.

It’s hard for us all to be on the sidelines, we want all the answers, we want to know how to make things better, and yet – we want to give the family space to be together.

That’s how this GoFundMe will help us help them.

A few weeks after this had all began, the family started to inform others that Kim had officially been diagnosed with a brain tumor / cancer, - a glioblastoma.

She could go through treatment to delay, but the inevitable was she would not be here one day soon because of it. - it took me 3 hours to officially tell you, the reader, these sentences. I wrote around it for a while.. but I knew I had to return.

Aside from the reality of losing their daughter, mom & wife, Kim's family will be undergoing financial hardship soon to help ensure Kim gets everything she needs while she's still with us.

Hospital treatments mean constant gas & parking fees, emergency issues have arisen meaning more gas & parking fees, home renovations are needed, and with family members needing to put their work lives on pause when possible, incomes are being affected.

This GoFundMe has been started in hopes that you can spare something to assist the family in their time of need. They'd never ask for help, but they're always there when someone else does, so it's our turn to show love, support & gratitude.

$10 could help with parking fees
$20 could go towards helping fill a tank of gas
$30 could help pay a household bill
$40 could assist in the new tub they need to purchase & install

As hard as this is for us all to lose such an incredible part of all of our lives, the best way to help right now is this.. And don’t let the time pass too long before you tell Kim how much you love & will miss her. Its an incredibly sad silver lining.
