Fatal Accident Visiting Cambodia

Donation protected
My family and i are heartbroken as we learned the news that my aunt died, and her sister left in critical condition, in a tragic accident in Cambodia. My uncle, Saman Eam, and his wife, Kim Lang Ting, vacation in Cambodia every year. This year,  they arrived Monday, November 16, 2015 to visit for the winter season. They have been raising money for a Cambodian "Boun Kathin," which is honored by Buddhists who give offerings to monks. They have been raising money in Canada and the US.

My aunt, Kim Lang, was complaining about her eyes hurting. In the afternoon of Saturday, November 21st, (Cambodian time),  Kim Lang and her sister left to visit a doctor when a car hit them from behind causing a tragic accident.

It was a fatal accident for Kim Lang. We received a call 3 hours after the accident that she had passed, while her sister was in critical condition. Needless to say our hearts sank in shock and sadness. The irresponsible driver who hit them with his car fled from the scene, leaving just his vehicle at the accident.

A cambodian news site wrote about the accident, saying "Canada 3 Car Crash in Prey Nob

Sihanoukville: woman from Canada 3 days car was hit from behind killed and another woman seriously injured while riding a motorcycle accident occurred at 4 pm on November 21, 2015 along Road 4, located in the well stone stone pit commune Prey Nob district Sihanoukville." My aunt was a retired nurse from a nursing home. She cared for the elderly since the early 1980's. She has always been a giving person who considered the needs of others before her own. Her enormous heart and kindness helped many people escape the Cambodian Genocide to have better lives. Her contageous laugh and smile brought so much joy to her family and friends.

(Their family in the 1980's in a Thailand refugee camp.)

She's survived by husband of 50+ years, 2 sons, Sam Oeun Eam and Tola Eam, 1 daughter Samnang Eam, 6 grandkids and 1 great grandson. She will truly be missed by everyone.

We are raising money to hep with the funeral expenses. If you can donate or share this story on social media, we appreciate it greatly.
