Kimi's Emergency Toe Amputation. (Cancer FULLY REMOVED)
Donation protected
LAST UPDATE: Kimi had his last vet appointment today and got another x-ray - the cancer was fully removed with the digit and it did NOT spread!!! We are so, so happy! Thank you again to everyone who was part of this and donated for Kimi’s surgery! I could not have done it without all of you! I’m so, so grateful!
Just want to thank everyone who donated towards Kimi’s vet bills and shared this Go Fund Me page!!! It really warmed my heart and I am so, so grateful!!! Will post another update after the chest x-ray on 4/11/24.
Update 3/28/24: Kimi got his bandage off. He’s left with a pretty significant wound (see below). Once the fur grows back, it should look much better.
Update 3/26/24: Kimi will get a lung x-ray on 4/11/24 to see if the cancer spread to his lungs.
Update 3/25/24: Kimi’s digit was amputated on March 21, 2024. Thank you so much to everyone who donated for this surgery! I can’t express how much I appreciate your support!
On March 25, 2024, we received the biopsy results back with the diagnosis Osteosarcoma (bone cancer). This came to us as a shock as it is very rare in such young cats, but if cats do get it, it does spread easily to the lungs. Kimi is only a year old and we are expecting more costs now, starting with a lung x-ray. I would really, really appreciate if you could share this page with any social media/ animal lovers out there!!!

Original Post:
Kimi came to us in January 2024 joining our established two-cat household. Kimi is just a year old and had a rough upbringing. His previous owner didn’t want him anymore and was about to put him out on the street on Christmas! Two good samaritans rescued him and found him a temporary foster home before he found his forever home in our family! Since adopting him, he has flourished so much. He is super active and curious, he loves to play and sprint through the apartment, and above all, he LOVES food!
In the evening of March 14, 2024, Kimi suddenly started limping. The next day, he couldn’t walk at all and so I immediately took him to the vet where x-rays revealed a mass around one of his front digits that had already eaten away his bone! It’s his white front paw. The digit needs to be removed as soon as possible. The radiologist suspects it to be cancer, but we can only be certain after sending in the digit for an autopsy. He is such a good cat, he has a wonderful personality and I want to see him being his young self again.
The amount raised will cover the initial exam, the x-rays, pain medication, the amputation and the transportation to and from appointments.
I would be SO grateful for any donations! Every single dollar counts!
Kind regards,
Kimi & Yvonne
